New world record for internet speed that’s 3,500,000 times faster than US can download entire Netflix catalogue in 1 second

Japan has the fastest internet in the world. Are you surprised? I’m not *but* and as some of you see I’m trying to live in a world where I talk about technology and I have tragically slow internet. For a very long time I had Spectrum which used to be Time Warner cable internet and it was tragically slow the entire time despite their ads that say otherwise. And apparently this was and still is true for many people in the US who have no choice but to use their services. These days I have Optimum and my typical download speed is barely 60 Mbps and upload is generally around 40 Mbps. I’d love to have a minimum of double of each but alas, such is not my fate as of today. Skipping my personal woes and getting back on topic, why do we not have better internet speeds in the US? Of course this speed is brand new for Japan and it’s not in everyone’s homes but this is not going to happen anytime soon in the US. Check this quote taken from the article, “According to a report by the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT), the US’s internet has an average speed of around 242 Mbps, meaning that Japan’s is quicker by 3.5 million times.” And what was driving this need for speed? It’s more than what some technophiles would think at first. I’ll address this more in the future.
