I’m sure there are a lot of people out there who can relate to this weather you have ever used generative AI or not. People in general have many questions in their lives and in the last generation (i.e., the last 10-15 years or so) whenever friends and family have not been available, people have turned to Google and Siri. And even with Google many have spoken to it instead of typed oftener to have the answer spoken back. In my experience, having Google answer me back on my iPhone stopped a while ago and I now assume it was to make way for AI. It’s easy to see how someone can get carried away with AI interactions, and probably many can see that those with OCD can get swept away by a seemingly endless ability to ask questions and instantly get some kind of answer whether it’s the one you want or not. Almost conversely, one of the benefits of having fast technology is that we also are getting some warnings and advise on how to use AI and the pitfalls some may experience with the immersion. Besides this article I have seen several studies and guides from a psychological perspective on concerns and best use guides for AI. This is something probably all of use should look into. Whether you use AI right now or not, you surely know someone who does.
